POORNIMA DEVI
Poornima Devi is a graduate from the School of Excellence in Law, Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai and has been an Associate at Anant Merathia and Associates for more than 5 years since 2018. Ably guided by her mentor, she has been a key member of the Firm and has been a part of numerous cases & litigations relating to insolvency, commercial disputes, civil cases, transactional matters, registration of intellectual properties amongst others. She has also worked on & provided advisories on a plethora of legal quandaries of varying complexities and provides opinions on titles to properties also.
Drawing on her experience as Managing Editor of the Indian Student Law Review (ISLR), (2015-2016), ISSN 2249-439 she has worked actively in utilizing her skillsets and contributed to the treatise of Mr. Anant Merathia on the dynamic Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 along with her colleagues Ms. Dhanisha Giri and Mr. Srikanth Rao.
She has also authored articles on legal topics and has dabbled in the realm of academia to further her interests in getting to know the jurisprudence of concepts better. This practice she believes would be another arrow in the arsenal of any young lawyer who cares about the development & implementation of the law. Being an avid quizzer, she has won numerous accolades whilst in school and in college and has continued to conduct quiz competitions at the university, inter-school level, by carving out time for the same. She is also an amateur photographer, blogger, who believes that the world is her oyster.
She is a firm believer that it is one’s choices that show who we really are, far more than one’s abilities and she always emphasizes on the mantra which propels her – ‘Per aspera ad astra’ to anyone who would listen.
DHANISHA GIRI
Dhanisha Giri is lawyer and law graduate from Alliance School of Law Alliance University. She joined as an Associate under Mr. Anant Merathia in the year of 2019, assisting in litigation, legal support and research in the field of Corporate Laws, Commercial real estate, transactional matters and others. She is also instrumental in corporate advisory to foreign clients and is also part of the firm’s International Desk.
She has immense interest in research and academic ventures. She has published various articles and is also a speaker in various areas of law. She has been instrumental in voicing her opinions on various topics through various self-authored and co-authored research papers.
She has also been active in contributing to the areas pertaining to legal development in India in regional groups such as the ASEAN Plus Group especially in laws pertaining to Payment Regulatory Services and Asset Management. Her international publications have aided in bringing a global outlook towards her perspective towards law.
She keenly aided Prof. Bhumika Modh, Lok Sabha Fellowship Program, Speaker’s Research Initiative, Parliament of India in her publication titled, ‘Role of Women Parliamentarian in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals in India’ and Prof. Uma Mahesh Sathyanarayan, Associate Dean (In-charge SOL), Dayananda Sagar University, Doctoral Scholar at National Law School of India University, Bengaluru in his thesis on ‘Attributing Culpability and its implications for Ecommerce Companies in India’ as a Research Assistant.
By building on her aforementioned experiences and lessons, she has ably assisted Mr. Anant Merathia in his book titled ‘Defaulter’s Paradise Lost: Demystifying the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016” along with her colleagues Ms. Poornima Devi and Mr. Srikanth Rao.
Her life philosophy includes her firm belief in one reaping the consequences of one’s actions and strongly advocates the power of consistency and hard work. Her ideologies stem from the foundational need for creativity in everything one does.
SRIKANTH RAO
Srikanth is a graduate from Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University, Visakhapatnam and predominantly handles Corporate Commercial Litigation as well as Advisory. He has advised various Promoters, Shareholders, Creditors and Insolvency Professionals in the Real Estate, Logistics, Technology and Manufacturing sectors and appears for matters before the High Court for the State of Telangana, National Company Law Tribunals, National Company Law Appellate Tribunal, Debt Recovery Tribunals as well as matters of Arbitrations.
He advices and represents various Resolution Professionals, Liquidators & Insolvency Professional Entities for end-to-end Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process as well as Liquidation Process related matters. He also advices and represents various Operational Creditors, Financial Creditors (individuals as well as institutions), Corporate Debtors as well as Successful Resolution Applicants before various NCLTs & NCLAT, Chennai Bench in regard to way forward with IBC, 2016.
Srikanth also provided extensive legal support to various real estate developers in Telangana with analysing sector specific legal-risk exposure, legal compliance as well as dispute resolution.
He is an avid parliamentary debater and a football enthusiast who represented his University and clubs at various events across the country and has won several accolades in the same.
